Challenge

Fans already knew who Tyus Jones was on the basketball court. But how do you turn an athlete into a brand that withstands the test of time, even after he stops competing? The professional basketball player already had a powerful story. Morsekode helped Tyus tap into it to build a distinctive personal brand. 

Strategy

Morsekode started with our collaborative brand workshop, meeting with Tyus and his inner circle to learn as much as we could. We gleaned insight into Tyus' personality, style and vision. Eventually, we came to understand his beliefs, motivations and values. These valuable insights went on to inform our concepting and design discovery processes, enabling Morsekode to accurately bring Tyus' brand to life.

Solution

The outputs from the brand workshop were used to create a unique visual brand identity for Tyus including a logo, color palette, typography, textures and more. Morsekode went on to design and develop Tyus' award-winning website and social media content tools, and defined his philanthropic Write Your Own Story platform. In an ongoing effort to build his brand and fanbase, we continue to partner with Tyus for content creation, social media strategy, merchandise design and sponsorship activity.
